Dear Reader,

We would like to thank you for allowing us to deliver our content straight into your inbox. Most email and internet companies utilize spam-blockers to stop unwanted emails from solicitors (and often time malware) but at times these programs can also block emails that you may actually want to receive. In order to ensure that you receive our emails, we ask that you add us to your address book, contacts or to your trusted list of senders. If you haven’t seen an email from us in your Inbox, our email may have mistakenly been sent to your spam folder.

Check your spam folder and if you have received an email from us that was marked as spam, please open it and mark it as Not spam. Since every email system is different, we have outlined the steps in detail for various systems below.

* IS YOUR EMAIL CLIENT OR SPAM FILTER NOT LISTED BELOW? *

An easy fix is to simply add the email address found in the “From” line of your most recent subscription email to your address book. If messages continue to be sent to your junk folder contact your ISP or spam filter application support and ask how to whitelist the email. If you’re using some sort of spam filtering or blocking software yourself (in addition to what your ISP provides), we’ve also listed instructions on how to exempt your subscription from some of the more popular of those programs.

Sending Address: If they ask for our address, give them the address in the “From” line of your most recent subscription email.

Domain: If they need to know the domain we’re mailing from, tell them: marketingmeathead.com

POPULAR APPS

GMAIL

Gmail uses inbox tabs to filter emails. Please check all tabs for our email before continuing.

If you find our email in one of the Gmail Tabs (ie “Social” or “Promotions”) take the following steps to move it to your primary inbox

  1. Locate and drag the email from us into the Primary Inbox Tab
  2. A yellow alert box will appear, confirming the move and asking to do this for future messages from us.

    The conversation has been moved to “Primary”

    Do this for future messages from contact@marketingmeathead? Yes

  3. Click Yes.

You are all set!

IF THE ABOVE DOES NOT APPLY THEN YOU MUST ADD OUR EMAIL ADDRESS TO YOUR CONTACTS LIST.

If you do not find an email from us in your inbox, please check your Gmail Spam Folder:

  1. If you see an email from us in the spam folder, click it to open.
  2. Locate and click the button on the toolbar labeled Not Spam
  3. Next add us to your Contacts list:
  4. Open the email from us
  5. Click the dropdown arrow next to the “Reply” arrow in the upper right side the email from header.
  6. Click the “Add to Contacts List” from the dropdown menu that appears.
  7. If this does not appear in the dropdown menu, then you may have us in your contacts list already!

GMAIL MOBILE APP

If you do not find an email from us please check your Gmail Spam Folder:

  1. If you see an email from us in the spam folder, click the menu icon  in the top right.
  2. Then select “Move to”
  3. Next, select “Primary”

Our emails will now show in your “Primary” inbox tab.

YAHOO! MAIL

If you have not received an email from us, please check your Spam Folder. If you see our email in your spam folder:

  1. Open the email.
  2. Next click the Not Spam button on the top toolbar.

To ensure delivery: Create a filter to automatically send our emails to your Inbox.

  1. Move your mouse over or tap the Gear icon in the top right navigation bar.
  2. Select Settings from the list that drops down.
  3. Choose Filters located on the left side of the page.
  4. Click the Add button on the Filters page.
  5. Create a name such as Whitelist in the Filter name field.
  6. In the From field leave the default contains selected.
  7. Enter the email address, found in theFROM section from the email we sent, in the text box next to Contains
  8. Choose the destination folder to which you would like the message delivered. For example: Inbox.
  9. Click or tap Save
  10. You will see in the next screen -Deliver to Inbox if From contains [from email]
  11. Click or tap Save on this screen.
  12. You will be returned to your Yahoo! Inbox.

IPHONE MAIL APP

iPhone Mail identifies most junk mail (spam) sent to your @icloud.com address or aliases, but it can mistakenly move email to your Junk mail folder. Periodically check the Junk folder for email messages that were marked as junk mistakenly.

To indicate that an email message from us isn’t junk:

  1. Open your Mail app and go to the Mailboxes screen
  2. Scroll down to the folders area
  3. Select the Junk folder.
  4. Find the email from us and slide it left to see options.
  5. Tap the More button.
  6. Tap the Mark button.
  7.  Tap the Mark as Not Junk button.

The message is moved to your Inbox. Subsequent email messages from us will no longer be marked as junk.

By default, messages in the Junk folder are deleted after 30 days so be sure to check it often to whitelist relevant email.

OUTLOOK MOBILE APP

Add us to your Focused Inbox on the Outlook Mobile App

Open the email from us (remember to also check spam if you cannot locate it)

  1. Click the menu button on the top right of your inbox
  2. Locate the Move to Focused Inbox option and select.
  3. Select the Move this and all future messages option, and tap Move.

All future messages from us will appear in your Focused Inbox

OUTLOOK (2003, 2016, OFFICE 365)

Add us to your Safe Senders list in Microsoft Outlook

  1. right-click on our email in the Inbox view.
  2. Select the Junk folder.
  3. Then Click the Never block sender option.
  4. You will receive an alert saying “The sender of the selected message has been added to your Safe Senders List.”
  5. Click OK

To add us to your address book

  1. Open our email message.
  2. Right-click on our address in the From field.
  3. Select the Add to contacts option.

INBOX BY GOOGLE

To make sure our email gets delivered to a preferred folder or your choice in Inbox, you must add us to your preferred folder, or a folder of your choice.

NOTE: “My Preferred Folder” is a demonstration. You must create your own “My Preferred Folder” by clicking + Create New yourself.

If you do not readily find an email from us in one of your Inbox bundles, please check your Inbox Spam Folder or your Promotions bundle:

  1. When you see the email from us open the email.
  2. Click the menu button folder.
  3. Next please add us to your My Preferred Folder.
  4. If you have not already created a My Preferred Folder, you may do so by clicking + Create new.
  5. You may also move us to any folder of your choice

EMAIL SERVICES

OUTLOOK.COM

In Outlook.com you must click the Wait it’s safe! link on emails incorrectly labeled as spam. Entering the email contact in the address book no longer whitelists the sender. To ensure our messages are not sent to your Junk folder, you can do one of the following.

MARK SENDER AS SAFE

    1. Check the Junk folder for an email from us.
    2. Once found, open the email
    3. You will see an alert stating “Microsoft SmartScreen marked this message as junk and we’ll delete it after ten days.” with two options underneath

MANUALLY ADD TO SAFE LIST

  1. Click gear the icon on the top right.
  2. Select Options in the dropdown menu.
  3. On the options page under Preventing Junk Email click Safe and Blocked senders.
  4. Click the link Safe Senders on the subsequent page.
  5. Enter contact@awolacademy.com in the text box.
  6. Click Add to list.

We will now be added to your list of Safe Senders. Emails added to your Safe Senders list will not sent to spam or junk.

AOL WEBMAIL

To ensure that you receive our emails in AOL Webmail, please do the following:

IF YOU FIND US IN YOUR SPAM FOLDER

  1. Right-click the email.
  2. Click Not Spam in the context menu.

ADD OUR EMAIL ADDRESS TO YOUR ADDRESS BOOK

  1. Open the email you have received from us.
  2. Click Show details link next to our name in the From field.
  3. Click our email address to show the menu.
  4. Click Add contact on the displayed menu.
  5. Add AWOL Academy to the name fields.
  6. Click Add contact.

We will now be able to send email directly into your inbox

COMCAST / XFINITY

Please log into your Xfinity account and select your webmail. If you find our email in your spam folder:

  1. Open the email.
  2. Click the  Spam (not spam) icon located in the toolbar at the top.
  3. Click the button at the top left of the email that says + Add to Address Book
  4. The Edit Contact Screen will appear.
  5. Enter our infomation then click Save.

We will now be able to send email directly into your inbox

EARTHLINK

If you are not receiving our emails using EarthLink, there are two actions you can take.

CHECK SUSPECT EMAIL FOLDER

With EarthLink, if you have SpamBlocker turned on, suspect messages are automatically send to your Suspect Email folder if the Domain is not in your address book.

  1. Select the Move to Inbox and Add Contact option from the dropdown menu.
  2. That’s it! You’re done!

MANUALLY ADD AWOL ACADEMY TO YOUR ADDRESS BOOK

  1. Open the email you have received from us.
  2. Click Add to Address Book in the email header.
  3. Use the Address Book Editor to verify our contact details and click Save.

Any mail sent from us will be delivered to your inbox.

AT&T

AT&T no longer maintains their own inbox. Instead you can find your AT&T emails at Att.Yahoo.com. Please follow the Yahoo instructions for whitelisting an ATT.net email address.

MOZILLA THUNDERBIRD

If an email from us appears in your Junk folder, Please mark that message as Not Junk. Next, please add us to your Address Book by doing the following:

  1. Click the Address Book button.
  2. Make sure that the Personal Address Book is highlighted.
  3. Click the New Contact button.
  4. Under the Contact Tab, copy and paste the From address into the email text box.
  5. Click OK.

SECURITY SOFTWARE

NORTON ANTISPAM

YOU MAY NOT RECEIVE EMAILS FROM US IF WE ARE ACCIDENTALLY ADDED TO THE BLOCKED LIST. TO REMOVE US FROM THE BLOCKED LIST COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING STEPS:

  1. Start your Norton Product
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Follow the steps below in accordance with your Norton Product:
    NORTON 360
    1. In the Settings window, under Detailed Settings, click AntiSpam.
    2. On the Filter tab, next to Blocked List, click Configure.
    NORTON INTERNET SECURITY
    1. In the Settings window, on the Network tab, click Message Protection
    2. Under AntiSpam, next to Blocked List, click Configure.

     

  4. In the Blocked List window, select AWOL Academy then click Remove.
  5. Click Apply then OK.
  6. If you do NOT find us in the Blocked List, add us to the Allowed List.

ADD US TO THE ALLOWED LIST

  1. Start your Norton Product
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Follow the steps below in accordance with your Norton Product:
    NORTON 360
    1. In the Settings window, under Detailed Settings, click AntiSpam.
    2. On the Filter tab, next to Allowed List, click Configure.
    NORTON INTERNET SECURITY
    1. In the Settings window, on the Network tab, click Message Protection
    2. Under AntiSpam, next to Allowed List, click Configure.

     

  4. In the Allowed List window, click Add
  5. Select the Address Type dropdown menu and select Add Email Address.
  6. Add the email address from AWOL Academy then click OK.
  7. In the Allowed List window, click Apply then OK.

 

MCAFEE PRODUCTS

While McAfee has removed spam protection in the latest Anti-Virus software- You may still have a version that offers spam filtering.

  1. In order to add us to the friends whitelist, please open McAfee and click on Web & Email Protection.
  2. Next, select Anti-Spam.
  3. Now click Friends List.
  4. Add contact@marketingmeathead.com to the list to allow emails from AWOL Academy.

 

TREND MICRO

If you received an email message that was incorrectly moved to the Spam Mail folder by the Anti-Spam Toolbar you can prevent this from occurring in the future. The Anti-Spam Toolbar detects spam by looking for certain keywords in the email’s subject or body. Occasionally, it may wrongly classify what you consider legitimate email as spam.

To prevent this from occurring you can do either of the following:

  • Add us to the list of Approved Senders.
  • Decrease the Spam Email Filter Strength.

Note: You can also select the email and click Not Spam to report it to Trend Micro. However, this feature serves only as a reference to their spam database, and it may not have an effect on how the toolbar detects spam.

ADD Marketing MeatHead TO THE LIST OF APPROVED SENDERS

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook.
  2. Click the Spam Mail folder then select the legitimate email detected as spam.
  3. Now click Approved Sender on the toolbar.
  4. Click Yes to confirm.

DECREASE THE SPAM EMAIL FILTER STRENGTH

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook.
  2. Click Trend Micro Anti-Spam then click Settings.
  3. On the Spam Filter tab, move the slider bar to select a lower filter strength.
  4. Click OK to save settings.

SPAM FILTERS

CLOUDMARK SPAMNET

Cloudmark filters email based on content footprints. To assure our email has not been mis-identified as spam, complete the following steps:

  1. Select Cloudmark | Options from the Cloudmark SpamNet toolbar in Outlook.
  2. Select Advanced.
  3. Go to the Whitelist tab.
  4. Now click Add button.
  5. Enter contact@marketingmeathead.com then click OK
  6. Click OK on the next screen, then YES to confirm.
  7. Click OK once more and you are done!

SANEBOX

Sanebox is not a filter, but a filtering system trained by you.

  1. Open your Webmail or Gmail where you use SaneBox.
  2. Open your @SaneLater folder.
  3. If you find an email from us in @SaneLater, drag our email to your Inbox folder.
  4. You’re all set!

SPAM ASSASSIN

Spam Assassin is usually administered by your server admin. Please contact your admin and request that he or she add the following entry to your user_prefs file, which is found in the .spamassassin subdirectory on your web/mail server:

  • whitelist_from contact@marketingmeathead.com

Save the user_prefs file or move the updated copy to your .spamassassin subdirectory.

BARRACUDA NETWORKS

Occasionally, Barracuda Spam Firewall will mark a legitimate message as spam. There are two methods to whitelist email senders:

WHITELIST QUARANTINED SENDERS

  1. Open your email client. Barracuda should send you a summary each day listing quarantined items. Choose the most recent Barracuda email message.
  2. Locate the email from us that you do not want quarantined in the future. Click on the word Whitelist, which is in green print to the right of the email title. This will open your list in a web browser.
  3. Click the box to the left of the email that you would like to whitelist. At the top of the page, click Whitelist. Barracuda will not block or quarantine the sender whose email address appears on the whitelist.

WHITELIST SENDERS & DOMAINS

  1. Open your web browser. Navigate to your company’s Barracuda firewall homepage.
  2. Click on the Block/Accept tab.
  3. Choose Sender Domain Block/Accept and enter the domain name marketingmeathead.com to whitelist.
  4. You may enter a comment to remind you why you allowed this domain, click Add.
  5. Click your mouse on the Email Sender Block/Accept tab to enter the email address of an individual sender that you want to whitelist, then click Add.

SPAMFIGHTER

Highlight the email from us to Whitelist. Click More in the SPAMfighter Toolbar and select Whitelist. Here you can choose if you want to Whitelist the email address or the whole Domain. To be sure that all emails from people in your Outlook contacts get through to you, you can import and Whitelist them.

  1. Click More in the SPAMfighter toolbar, then select Options
  2. Select Filter Settings and then click Blacklists & Whitelists.
  3. Choose Whitelist email address and then Import.
  4. Select your address book and click Check all, followed by Add.
  5. Click Apply to finalize.

If you get a pop-up box offering you to upgrade to SPAMfighter Pro, it is because you have exceeded the limit of 100 addresses. You can fix this by buying SPAMfighter Pro or by deleting some of the addresses in your Black/White list. If you want to delete addresses, do the following:

  1. Click More in the SPAMfighter toolbar, then select Options.
  2. Click Filter Settings, then Blacklists & Whitelists.
  1. Click Tools, then Blacklist & Friends.
  2. Click Add on the right, near the Friends list.
  3. Make sure Plain email address is selected.
  4. Type in contact@marketingmeathead.com and click OK.
  5. Click OK.
  1. Open ChoiceMail.
  2. Click on the Senders tab.
  3. Choose Approve another Sender.
  4. Type in contact@marketingmeathead.com and click OK.
  1. SPAM SLEUTH

    1. Select File, then Configure.
    2. Go to the Friends category.
    3. Make sure Active is selected.
    4. Type in contact@marketingmeathead.com on a line by itself in the entry field.
    5. Click OK.
